The main goal of Parkurbis is the creation of the tools to support the development of new technology based activities, ensuring a dynamic interface between the University of Beira Interior (UBI) and the entrepreneurial tissue in order to bring together the R&D offer and the needs of companies, through:
. Supporting to R&D projects developed inside UBI
. Serving as an interface between UBI and the business tissues
. Promoting entrepreneurship and the creation of new technology based firms;
. Promoting activities supported by R&D
. Providing supporting services to the existing companies, including those in more traditional sectors, and to start-up companies
. Supporting the sustainable development of the Region
. Supporting the Region to became more attractive to external investment (both national and international)
. Promoting the fixation of young qualified Human Resources
. Promoting a network with other Science and Technology Parks at global level;
. Creating a new economical dynamic in the Region
. Cooperating in training activities aiming the development of innovative skills of entrepreneurs
. Creating an excellence environment for R&D in businesses.
